The aim of the Department of Dental Materials is to provide in depth of the materials being used in dentistry to its students. The students composition and properties of the materials used in dentistry with special reference to selection of materials and their manipulation. The students of this subject are expected to understand the scope of dental materials, the structure and behavior of materials along with the physical, chemical, mechanical and biological properties. All the materials used clinically or in the laboratories are included in this field. The students are imparted with a thorough knowledge of all the materials used and the skills.
